A Gabitel lecture on sustainability and environmental engineering kicks off the academic year of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology.

Una conferencia de Gabitel sobre sostenibilidad e ingeniería ambiental inaugura el curso del Máster en Tecnología Ambiental
Our Business Development and Renewable Energy Division Director, José Raúl Tejero Zuheros, had the honor of opening the 2024/2025 academic year of the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology (M.T.A.) at the University of Huelva (UHU) and the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) as the guest speaker for the inaugural lecture.

Our Business Development and Renewable Energy Division Director, José Raúl Tejero Zuheros, had the honor of opening the 2024/2025 academic year of the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology (M.T.A.) of the University of Huelva (UHU) and the International University of Andalusia (UNIA), as the guest speaker for the inaugural lecture. In his presentation, he discussed the numerous green hydrogen projects, both completed and in development, in which Gabitel is involved.

In the lecture, titled “Development of Green Hydrogen Projects at Gabitel” and held in the Graduate Hall of the Faculty of Experimental Sciences at UHU, our colleague outlined Gabitel’s role and evolution as a leading engineering firm in the sector, tackling the challenge of decarbonizing European industry through its experience and specialized expertise.

In this regard, he emphasized the importance of understanding and complying with current legislation to carry out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and ensure successful administrative processing. He also highlighted the crucial role of environmental teams as key professionals who ensure the sustainability and viability of projects, providing innovative solutions to mitigate negative environmental impacts.

In this context, he provided a comprehensive overview of the engineering and environmental consulting services required to meet current demands in the energy sector. Through a structured approach, presented in the form of a service diagram, he detailed how Gabitel’s strategy is articulated: from initial design and project planning, through technical and economic feasibility analysis, to environmental and legal processing—crucial steps for the successful development of renewable energy projects and the achievement of optimal permitting timelines.

Gabitel’s participation in this event reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, technological innovation, and academic training, demonstrating its leadership in the renewable energy sector and its ability to provide key solutions to today’s environmental and energy challenges.

Gabitel, a member of the Network Map of Entities for Green Hydrogen in Andalucia under the category of R&D&I companies, engineering, product design or concept, and co-promoter—together with the University of Huelva—of the Gabitel Chair on Hydrogen, brings over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy engineering sector, particularly in photovoltaic and wind power plants that complement hydrogen, backed by nearly a hundred renewable energy projects.

The opening ceremony, which was attended by various academic authorities, partner organizations, faculty, and students, concluded with the awarding of academic certificates and the Prize for the Best Master’s Thesis of the 2023/2024 academic year, as well as the distribution of documentation to the new students.

This Master’s program, now in its twentieth edition, is one of the most successful postgraduate courses at the University of Huelva and UNIA, with a 90% employability rate. It is fully established and considered a benchmark in the country.

It is a unique postgraduate program on this subject in Andalusia, aiming to provide students with comprehensive training in this field, covering technological, economic, legal, and environmental management aspects. Its goal is to prepare specialists to fill the existing professional gap and meet the growing demand in the environmental engineering sector.
