Andalusia, in general, and Huelva, in particular, have great potential in green hydrogen production. Gabitel is an active player in this development as an engineering firm with extensive experience in renewables. It has attracted the attention and investment of numerous companies and institutions from other countries interested in analyzing the evolution of the national energy sector and promoting alliances within the framework of the energy transition toward decarbonization.
In this context, we recently participated in Seville in the Saxon Economy Promotion World Day as part of a market research trip, which featured strong representation from Saxon companies and research institutions. The event aimed to exchange experiences in the use of hydrogen technologies.
Following the welcome by the German Consul in Andalusia, Franko Stritt, and Mario Kristen from the Saxony Economic Development Corporation, attendees were able to learn about Andalusia’s strategy on hydrogen and renewable energies from Natalia Márquez García, Director of the Andalusian Energy Agency, and Joaquín Villar, also from the Andalusian Energy Agency.
Subsequently, Markus Kemper from the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain in Madrid presented a report on German-Spanish economic relations, and Fernando Frühbeck, president of the German Economic Forum in Andalusia, analyzed the trade relations between Germany and the Andalusian region.
Finally, Karl Lötsch from the Hydrogen Innovation Center (HIC) presented several hydrogen projects from the European Cluster HZwo; Alexander Michaelis (Fhg IKTS), Lukas Trommler (TU Dresden), and Senén Moya (TU Chemnitz) discussed hydrogen research and development in Saxony. Meanwhile, Robert Krumbach (Auerhammer Metallerk), Markus Wulke (GSA-CAD GmbH & Co. KG), and Stefan Lorenz (CAC Engineering) analyzed industrial solutions in the state of Saxony for a hydrogen-based economy.
The event concluded with presentations from Spanish companies, including Gabitel, which showcased its engineering and environmental consulting services in the field of renewables in general, and hydrogen in particular.
At the end of the presentations, a discussion forum was created to exchange opinions and explore collaboration opportunities within the context of economic cooperation between Andalusia and Saxony, aiming to lay the groundwork for future projects.
