Gabitel participates in a conference addressing Huelva’s potential for attracting investments

The province of Huelva possesses numerous natural resources and, driven by the global challenge of decarbonization, energy transition, and the use of renewable energies and their derivatives, it has become a powerful national and international investment hub in strategic sectors for its sustainable development.

To analyze its strengths and advantages for investment, today the event “Invest in Huelva” was held at the Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid. It was organized by Andalucía Económica Magazine, with the participation of prominent representatives from institutions, administrations, and leading companies of the economic fabric of Huelva to promote the potential the province offers in strategic sectors such as energy, industry, mining, water, agri-food, and infrastructure.

Indeed, Huelva has led industrial investment attraction in Spain with more than 5.8 billion euros in the last two years, representing up to 53% of all industrial investment in Andalusia.

The event was attended by a Gabitel delegation led by its CEO, Juan Andrés Reales, and the Director of Business Development and Renewable Energy Division, José Raúl Tejero. The event was inaugurated by Rocío Blanco, Minister of Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment of the Andalusian Government; David Toscano, President of the Huelva Provincial Council; Pilar Miranda, Mayor of Huelva; José Luis García-Palacios, President of the Huelva Business Federation; and Alfredo Chávarri, CEO of Andalucía Económica.

The event 'Invest in Huelva' held today at the Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid, organized by Andalucía Económica Magazine, featured prominent representatives from institutions, administrations, and leading companies of Huelva’s economic fabric to promote the province’s potential in strategic sectors such as energy, industry, mining, water, agri-food, and infrastructure.

The first of the four round tables of the event, titled ‘Energy and Water’, featured Antonio Joyanes, Director of Energy Parks at Moeve; Antonio Fernández, Iberdrola’s Delegate in Andalusia; and Higinio Martínez, Southern Zone Director of Aqualia.

The second table, titled ‘Industry and Mining’, was composed of Macarena Gutiérrez, CEO of Atlantic Copper; Vicente Granados, CEO of Instituto Español; and Mª Paz Curto, CFO of Sandfire Matsa; while the third, ‘Land and Infrastructure’, included Alberto Santana, President of the Port Authority of Huelva; Alberto Fernández, Mayor of Ayamonte and Vice President of the Huelva Provincial Council; Milagros Romero, Mayor of Palos de la Frontera; Manuel Contreras, President of Grupo Azvi; and Fernando Zurita, Director of Real Estate Development at Alvores.

The fourth and final table, titled ‘Agri-food’, was made up of Francisco Sánchez, CEO of Onubafruit; Joaquín Malagón, Manager of Hudisa; Juan Manuel Arenas, Director of Fresas Nuevos Materiales; and Xanty Elías, Chef and Founder of Grupo Xanty Elías.

The event was capped off with a cocktail where attendees enjoyed the gastronomic excellences of the province of Huelva.
