On November 30, the Transport Seminar titled “Hydrogen Technologies at the Service of the Transport Sector: Proposed Solutions and Market Analysis” took place in the Assembly Hall of the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the University of Huelva, and was closed by our Director Rodrigo Delgado.
This event, promoted by the Gabitel Chair on Hydrogen, was attended by nearly one hundred participants, representing transport companies from the province of Huelva, Gas Station Associations, the Port Authority of Huelva, EMTUSA, ENDESA DISTRIBUCIÓN, IBERDROLA, GABITEL INGENIEROS, S.L., and ultimately both potential producers and consumers of this sustainable, green fuel.
The seminar was opened by Ms. Isabel María Rodríguez, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Employability at UHU, together with Mr. Felipe Arias Palma, Director General of Mobility at the Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning of the Regional Government of Andalusia, who emphasized his personal commitment to promoting the province of Huelva and its potential in hydrogen.
There were three outstanding presentations. First, Mr. José Manuel Andújar, Professor at the University of Huelva and Director of CITESI, clarified the limited scope of electric cars and the future of hydrogen; followed by Mr. Rafael Luque Berruezo, General Director of ARIEMA, who stressed the need to invest and assume risk at this stage of hydrogen development; and concluding with Mr. Javier Ruesga, Project Manager at ENAGAS, who delivered a brilliant and straightforward on-site demonstration of different energy vectors and their application using a small but intuitive model.
After the presentations, a round table was held with distinguished representatives from various sectors, including Mr. Juan Antonio Millán, Honorary President of FENADISMER, who suggested the concept of creating an “energy community”; Beatriz Lacañina, President of the Gas Station Association of Seville; Dr. Fernando Isorna Llerena, Head of the Energy Systems Laboratory at INTA (National Institute of Aerospace Technology); and Ms. Paqui Segura, Director of the Gabitel Chair.
