During the morning of Thursday 24 January, a breakfast-colloquium was held at the headquarters of Gabitel Ingenieros, at the invitation of the Association of Directors of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla (ADACEM), which brought together important personalities from the business world of Huelva, including the Councillor for Urban Planning, Manuel Gómez Márquez, and José Luis Ramos, President of the Port of Huelva, who spoke about the «Business opportunities arising under the strategic plan of the Port».
The event, which was attended by a large number of executives from different companies in the province, began with the words of Rodrigo Delgado, technical director of Gabitel Ingenieros, who thanked all the attendees and especially the speakers for their presence: Luis Miguel Martín, president of ADACEM; Manuel Gómez, and José Luis Ramos.
After the welcome, Luis Miguel Martín took the floor on behalf of the association he presides, thanked our company for organising the event and highlighted the importance of this type of meeting, which allows for the sharing of experiences and the use of social intelligence. These initiatives, among many others, are the ones that ADACEM makes available to its more than 300 associated managers distributed throughout Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla. Manuel Gómez was then in charge of introducing the speaker at the event, praising the enthusiasm and commitment with which José Luis Ramos carries out his work.
The president of the Port Authority wanted to highlight the fact that an event of these characteristics was held at the headquarters of a company such as Gabitel Ingenieros, which, in his words, had been the spearhead of the industrial and technological development of Huelva, and began his speech by talking about the important transformation process that the Port of Huelva is undergoing, an unprecedented development that has made it the sixth most important port in the country and the second fastest growing in Europe in the last decade and which represents a great starting position.
José Luis Ramos underlined the four main pillars of the port strategy: diversification, integration with the environment, sustainability and competitiveness. On this last point, specifically in terms of innovation, is where he highlighted that there may be great business opportunities in 2019, as for this great development it is necessary to modify the business model and move towards meeting the demands of ports 4.0, which implies moving from Smart Port to Interconnected Port, in which having the capacity to manage, administer data and create predictive models that allow more efficient processes to be obtained.
To conclude, the President of the Port emphasised the major projects which will be executed in the coming months and which have a budget of 130 million euros. These interventions are divided into four major actions:
- Levante Quay Operation..
- Outer harbour and docks
- Logistics Activities Zone.
- Actions outside the service area.
Furthermore, in the Port of Huelva’s commitment to sustainability and the environment, investments of €40 million are planned, developing a proactive policy in this area that aims to be a benchmark for other Spanish and European ports.
Finally, there was a question and answer session in which some of the attendees gave the President of the Port their opinions on the strategy being developed by the port, and in any case, congratulated him for the interesting presentation and for the great figures that his management is producing.
The attendees were very satisfied with the development of the event, which for us is a great pride that we want to share, as it could not be otherwise, with ADACEM and with the catering company Consumo Gusto, which was in charge of serving a high quality breakfast.
El día 25 de noviembre se celebra el Día Internacional contra la Violencia de Género y, conmemorando esta fecha, se ha presentado en la sede de Huelva de Gabitel Ingenieros la exposición «Practica la igualdad, marca la diferencia», enmarcada en una campaña de sensibilización promovida por la Fundación CEPAIM a través de su programa «Adelante».
Este programa, financiado por el Fondo Social Europeo, busca aumentar la integración socio-laboral de las mujeres que se encuentran en colectivos más vulnerables, a través de actuaciones que fomenten la igualdad de genero y la conciliación de la vida personal y laboral, y evitando la discriminación múltiple. Una de estas acciones es la exposición itinerante que se ha instalado en las oficinas de Gabitel, en la que se presentan 18 paneles principalmente dirigidos al público masculino, en los que se trata de llegar al espectador y plantear una reflexión sobre los roles y actitudes adquiridas principalmente por la herencia cultural.
Durante la inauguración de la exposición se animó a los presentes a abrir sus mentes, cambiar la perspectiva y romper con las ideas preconcebidas que marcan las diferencias de género presentes en nuestra sociedad.
