The Gabitel Hydrogen Chair wins the Onubense of the Year Award in Education, highlighting its work in innovation and sustainable development.

The Gabitel Hydrogen Chair, an initiative promoted by Gabitel in collaboration with the University of Huelva, has been awarded the Onubense of the Year Award in the Education category. The recognition comes as part of the 37th edition of these awards organized by Huelva Información and sponsored by CaixaBank.

This award, decided after a month of public voting, saw the participation of over 53,000 votes among the 30 candidates presented in six categories. The official jury proclaimed as winners those projects and institutions that, through their work, contribute to the social, cultural, and economic progress of the province.

The Gabitel Chair was created in 2021 with a clear objective: to promote knowledge and applications of green hydrogen as a source of clean energy. Since then, it has become a benchmark in organizing R&D events, training programs, seminars, summer courses, and national and international meetings, driving knowledge transfer between the university environment and the business sector. For our company, this award represents support for our strategy of betting on innovation and sustainable development.

At Gabitel, we also want to congratulate the rest of the awardees and nominees in this edition, as well as express our special thanks to all the people who supported us with their votes and those who make the Chair’s activity possible day by day.

This recognition reinforces our commitment to continue working on training, research, and knowledge transfer, convinced that green hydrogen is one of the keys to sustainable development in Huelva and throughout the country.
